Dan Hannan would be my choice; young, erudite, respected internationally, an eloquent orator with a feeling for history....
But he still seems to be clinging to the mistaken belief that he and his colleagues on the eurosceptic wing of the Tory Party can change it from within and mold it in his own Burkean image.
If he could persuade the Carswells, Davises and Cashes of this world to make the leap with him, great, but it's not going to happen, is it?

Wonder how they came to have Dan Hannan as one of the runners and riders?
I'll offer odds of 10,000/1 on Mr. Blobby, if anybody wants to give me a fiver... ;)
