They look a pair of decent local papers, having been churning out the local news for well over a hundred years each.

Supported by the Single Regeneration Budget, European Regional Development Fund & The Tame Valley InitiativeI don't know about you but I would find it hard to believe that, independently minded and local as they are, they would be comfortable writing up stories that are critical of EU legislation and so on. It is very hard to bite the hand that feeds you.

Don't worry, it doesn't seem like anything going on outside of the local area is really much in their line of fire.

Don't worry, nobody up here reads the Reporter. We all get the MEN for proper news and the Tameside Advertiser is free for the local 'fluff' stories about shaved kittens and the local non-league football sides.
