Not good company to keep, you might think

If you were a Muslim charity you might think that you would be a little bit wary of organisations that advertise themselves by blowing people up. I mean it would rather play to people's stereotypes.

So what the blithering heck is Islamic Aid doing still on the 10:10 website?

After all it would be unwise for an organisation that has as one of its key funding streams as donations to buy animals for ritual slaughter or Qurbani.

This would be rather uncomfortable for you to be attached to.

Islamic Aid seems to be a normal charity with the traditional humanitarian objectives that used to characterise our charities.

We support projects that provide those most basic and immediate needs like clean water and healthcare and we also help people to change lives for good through training, education and business start-ups.

So why blow it (up)?

I have written to Mr Hassan, the Chairman,

Dear Mahmood Hassan,

I am certain that you are aware of the furore surrounding the snuff video released by the environmental group,10:10 Global.
Can you please tell me what you are intending to do regarding your involvement with this group of insane fanatics.

It is astonishing to me that probably the leading Islamic Charity operating in the UK you could be involved in any way with people who think it is funny to blow people up who do not agree with them..

Please do not refer me to the "apology" on their web page, that apology is too little too late, their original apology showed their total detachment from the real World. They are a menace and I do not want to be involved, even peripherally through my having a phone on your network.

Do you and Islamic Aid really think it is appropriate or will you, like other organisations, such as Sony and the National Magazine Company, make it clear that you will have nothing more to do with 10:10?
