That's very generous of them

The EU has announced that it is to give the republic of Moldova 90 million Euros, which according to the latest figures from the World Bank is just under 25Euros each. Which is roughly a week's average wage.

Very kind of them.

Sadly they are going to give it to the government to help deal with the finacial crisis. Which will mean that it will be largely wasted. Which is a shame.

If they just gave every man, woman and child 25 euros I am prepared to bet that it would do their economy more good. As the money would largely be spent at home, but hey, what do I know?
