OK so I shouldn't laugh, but the sight of the massively expensive (450 million euros) European Parliament chamber in Strasbourg looking like the demolition ball has been at work does rather put a smile on my face.
When Blair came to the Parliament a while back he referenced Jericho,
"The people are blowing the trumpets round the city walls. Are we listening? Have we the political will to go out and meet them so that they regard our leadership as part of the solution not the problem?"
Well it appears from the film above that the trumpet blasts from France, Holland and most recently Ireland have indeed had some salutary effect.
