Strike a light

The methods employed by the Swedish firemen in their dispute with the authorities may well work,

Firemen 'will let buildings burn'
Sweden's firemen have said they will refuse to put out fires at municipal buildings unless a deal can be reached with two employer associations.

The Swedish Fire-Fighters' Union said its members would rescue people trapped inside burning public buildings and they would try to save adjacent buildings. But they would consider allowing the council properties themselves burn to the ground. "We can't rule that out," union chairman Kenneth Carlsson told reporters at a press conference on Friday. The nationwide industrial action is scheduled to begin on December 28th unless a pay deal can be reached with the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Region's and employer association Pacta. The initial stage of the dispute is set to affect 1,000 full time firemen".
