When politician's hold the public in contempt

"We will not require a referendum on this. It is something that can be worked on closely by Parliament. I think we can make progress quickly on this,"
Gordon talking in Berlin yesterday.
Gloriously the German media seem to think that this attitude marks him out as a Eurosceptic! It appears he would still like us to join the Euro as well - "He said that Britain would continue to "periodically review" the idea of switching to the euro".
May I remind Mr Brown of this text from John Locke
"And thus the Community perpetually retains a Supream Power of saving themselves from the attempts and designs of any Body, even of their Legislators, whenever they shall be so foolish, or so wicked, as to lay and carry on designs against the Liberties and Properties of the Subject"
