Maybe, but there again maybe not
The awful news from Germany, with 25 dead so far in a train crash might wel have some politcal ramificationsin the UK. Because this was the first Maglev train to operate in Europe. Now if I remember rightly the MAGLEV is exactly what George Osborne (sorry Georgie but that's two today) has been flagging up as the cure for Britain's ransport ills. Now given that the Germans have already cancelled the planned Frankfurt Cologne route, and the fact that the very train Georgie went visiting in China has broken down with technical problems, can we expect a certain back tracking from the cuddly Blue team?

For what it's worth, the Dutch also rejected a Maglev linking Amsterdam with the isolated north-east of the Netherlands (Groningen).
