The Snake rears its ugly head

According to today's FT Germany and France are planning to move ahead with the core Frankenreich project if/when Britain rejects the Consitution.
Quoting Charles Grant (see passim)
"Apparently France and Germany would announce their intention to build a closer union that would cover eight or nine policy areas," he wrote.
"They would immediately involve Belgium and Luxembourg and invite other member states to join them."
Mr Grant says the increased co-operation could cover the integration of military forces, tax harmonisation, the establishment of a European criminal court and the merger of embassies.

So nothing important then!!
