Neither for gain nor reward.

A chap by the name of Mathew Spencer has just been convicted of bigamy in Teeside. He got a nine months sentence (1 year suspended) and three months wearing an electric tag. His defence brief pointed out I suspect accurately that,
"There appears to be no potential benefit for him and it is also clear that there is a low risk of reoffending,"
However the Judge, Guy Whitburn QC summed up the case beautifully,
"This was not for gain, nor for fraudulent intent, nor was it for reward,"
