Whatever you decide, please make sure that you are still in there and able to, somehow, feed back the information that the "colleagues" don't want us to hear.
How about continuing to write your blog posts as emails which you send off to another blogger who posts them on his/her own site? Sort of a permanent guest blogger.
We will miss you and a fine source on what is going on in EU land. Can't trust the mainstream media in the U.S. to put an iota of attention to Europe, hence we resort to the better written blogs. Hang tough, take a hiatus but keep your domain alive. Best regards and wishes from a loyal reader in Michigan, land of 1000 taxes.
Only a thousand taxes? Here, in Virginia (temporary home), they even tax tea, can you believe it! My wife wont let me refuse to pay the tea tax.
I notice the media here is referring increasingly to the EU position - Commissioner X said this, President Sarkozy said that, when talking about international affairs. Britain might have retained its competency for foreign affairs but the rest of the world just hasn't noticed and now looks to EU leadership, just as many predicted would happen. There again, does Britain actually have a foreign policy any more?

Have one of your MEPs set up a blog and then ghost-write it for him.

Stay in the job for now and when you become MEP let them have it!
Send the sec-gen of the Parliament a fruit basket and keep blogging...
And include a "pineapple" in the fruit basket...
