Jelly Wobbles

Could this be the first effect of the new European Political Foundations?

I understand that the veteran Tory MEP James Elles has resigned as Chairman of the European Ideas Network. The EIN describes itself as an,
open pan-European think-tank process designed to promote new thinking on the key challenges facing the countries of the European Union. Sponsored by the EPP-ED Group, the largest political group in the European Parliament, the network was launched in the summer of 2002,
Elles seems to think that the guy ropes have been cut away from his dirigable by the EPP-ED Group and its new leadership under Joseph Daul.

My feeling is that Daul is looking forward to creating his EPP European Political Foundation which remember is alowed to campaign politically in European elections, and this old EIN with its rather academic and traditional focus on think tanks (and its remarkably British components in its Working Groups structure) is a waste of EPP rations.

I was just thinking, what Brussels needs is another think tank.
