Mandelson has given a "Nah Nah Ni Nah Nah" type comment to the BBC about the fact that as an EU Commissioner it doesn't matter if Brown hates him, he will keep his job as the EU Commisar for Trade, "I don't know whether this is going to come as a disappointment to him, but he can't actually fire me." But my dear, that is the whole bloody point, nobody can fire you. In a democracy those who make decisions over our lives must be accountable. In the case of the EU, unless we go down the tumbrill route then you are unassailable. Thus with simple logic the system is unacountable and with the painfull grind of simple logic, undemocratic.
